About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 (VA Network Contracting Office 2) issued a Special Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract on February 13, 2026. The notice pertains to emergency repair services for proprietary medical equipment classified under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) and PSC code J065. The VA intends to award a sole source contract to Philips North America, LLC for emergency repair of an INGENIA AMBITION 1.5T X MRI magnet located at the New York Harbor Medical Center, Brooklyn Campus. The equipment's serial number is 47325, and the notice emphasizes that this equipment is proprietary to Philips, which does not authorize any other entity to provide service on the equipment. This announcement represents the VA's intent to proceed with a non-competitive award based on proprietary equipment restrictions.
Although this notice is not a request for competitive quotes, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may submit written notification to challenge the sole source determination. The response deadline is February 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with submissions required via email to Contract Specialist Lisa Harris at Lisa.Harris4@va.gov; telephone inquiries will not be accepted. There are no specific eligibility criteria outlined for potential competing contractors, as the notice is primarily informational regarding the VA's intention to proceed with Philips. Interested parties have a brief three-day window to provide written evidence that they can perform the emergency repair services without authorization from Philips. If no responses are received by the deadline, the government will proceed with awarding the contract to Philips North America, LLC.
