About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 20 is seeking a full-service maintenance contract for Draeger Anesthesia Units across six VA medical facilities in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. The procurement covers comprehensive maintenance services including preventative maintenance, trace gas testing, anesthetic vaporizer inspections, repairs, calibrations, software updates, and phone support for approximately 100 Draeger Medical Apollo Anesthesia Machines located at the Puget Sound, Boise, Roseburg, Eugene, Spokane, and Portland VA Medical Centers. Contractors must have a minimum of three years of experience maintaining anesthesia units, with factory-trained service engineers who have access to Draeger proprietary documentation and can use OEM or equivalent parts. The VA's biomedical departments lack the specialized tools and training necessary to perform this specialized maintenance and testing in-house. The anticipated solicitation number is 36C26025Q0693, with responses due July 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, though this is currently only a pre-solicitation notice and no official RFQ has been released yet.
This procurement will be conducted as an unrestricted open market competition with no set-aside designations, making it available to all qualified contractors registered in SAM.gov. The contract structure is anticipated to be a firm fixed-price arrangement with a base year and four option years, totaling a potential five-year performance period. The work involves servicing approximately 100 medical devices across the six VA facilities, with all maintenance activities required to be performed after patient care hours or when equipment is not in use. No incumbent contractor or current service provider is mentioned in the documentation, suggesting this may be a new contract opportunity or a recompete. The equipment is located in surgical services at each facility, and contractors will need coordinated access through VA Police Service, Biomedical staff, or other designated authorized personnel. All work must be performed to manufacturer specifications with detailed service reporting and performance verification required after each maintenance event.
