About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically the Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract with Carefusion Solutions, LLC for BD Pyxis system support at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. The notice is published under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 1901 and will cover a base year from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026, with four optional years. Carefusion Solutions, LLC is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only authorized provider for this specialized medical system support. The procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.5 Limited Source Justification Approval, with a specific focus on providing immediate emergency service, annual maintenance, and 24-hour remote support for the Pyxis system.

Contractors interested in demonstrating their capability to meet the VA's requirements must submit detailed evidence by 10:00am CDT on October 22, 2024, directly to the Contracting Officer via email. To be considered, firms must provide four key pieces of documentation: an OEM authorization letter, proof of ability to purchase OEM parts, verification that all technical personnel are OEM certified, and evidence of capability to utilize OEM billable services. The VA emphasizes that this is not a competitive quote request, and only new, original equipment manufacturer items will be accepted, with strict prohibitions against gray market or counterfeit supplies. While the VA will evaluate any responses received, the agency retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the procurement. If no satisfactory responses are submitted, the VA will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Carefusion Solutions, LLC under the NAICS code 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance.
