About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 12, through its Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), has issued a Special Notice for sole source procurement of maintenance services for Agfa DX-D 100 Mobile X-ray equipment. The notice, posted on October 22, 2025, announces the government's intent to negotiate directly with Agfa US Corp., identified as the only authorized vendor capable of servicing three specific portable digital X-ray units. This acquisition is conducted under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, with the justification that Agfa US Corp. is the sole responsible source meeting agency requirements. The contract will be structured as a Firm-Fixed Price agreement with a one-year base period plus two optional one-year renewal periods. The procurement falls under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a $34 million business size standard.
Interested firms that believe they can fulfill these maintenance requirements may submit written notification to Contract Specialist Laura Broacha at Laura.Broacha@va.gov by 10:00 AM Central Time on October 31, 2025, providing the deadline for competing submissions. Prospective contractors must furnish supporting evidence demonstrating their capability to meet all requirements, including a letter from the Original Equipment Manufacturer confirming their status as an authorized distributor per clause 852.212-72(c). This notice serves as a sustainment contract for existing X-ray maintenance services rather than a new acquisition. While the government will evaluate any responses received, it retains sole discretion to determine whether to compete the procurement, meaning submission of evidence does not guarantee competitive consideration. Telephone requests will not be accepted; all communications must be submitted in writing.
