About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 19, issued a Notice of Intent on August 26, 2026, to award a sole-source contract to Evoqua Water Technologies for water purification system upgrade installation services at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado, with a response deadline of September 2, 2026. The procurement is restricted to Evoqua because they are the original equipment manufacturer of the existing Reverse Osmosis system; performing the upgrade through any other vendor would void the system's extended warranty and compromise system integrity and performance reliability critical to patient care operations. The requirement encompasses labor to remove and install a new higher-capacity RO unit with positioning and mounting of new UV and final filter housings, Schedule 80 PVC components to connect the new RO system to the storage tank, and five site trips for travel expenses. The contractor must also commission and verify system performance, disinfect the new system and associated piping, perform microbiological and chemical water testing, and provide onsite training to Sterile Processing staff. All required materials have been separately procured and will be delivered onsite. The Contracting Officer's Representative is Kyle Daugherity, reachable at 720-413-8020 or Kyle.Daugherity@va.gov.

This is a contract action to provide installation services to complete an upgrade of the Sterile Processing Services s Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system. All required materials have been separately purchased and are being delivered onsite.
Evoqua Water Technologies, LLC., is the sole source of the upgrade service and parts, as they are the original manufacturers of the current system. Failure to do so will void the system s extended warranty, which would interrupt continued optimal performance and reliability. Robert English, Senior Executive Account manager at Evoqua, the manufacturer of the system, has confirmed that they are the sole source of the parts and labor involved with this unit s upgrade.
These services are essential to maintaining the system s performance, ensuring uninterrupted lab operations. Failure to maintain OEM-level support would compromise system integrity and the ability to safely deliver patient care.
The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 221310 and the Business Size Standard is $41.0 Million.
