About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 5 is seeking contractors to replace General Exhaust Fan #2 at the Clarksburg VA Medical Center through solicitation number 36C24526Q0057. The procurement involves complete demolition and removal of the existing failed exhaust fan system and installation of a new exhaust fan system capable of 21,160 CFM at 2" static pressure that removes exhaust air from the basement through the 6th floor of Building 1. The project scope includes integration with the Building Automation System, electrical and control wiring, air balancing, and associated testing to ensure proper functionality. The work falls under NAICS code 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors) and PSC code J045 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment- Plumbing, Heating, and Waste Disposal Equipment). Responses to this pre-solicitation notice are due by October 24, 2025 at 8:00 AM Eastern Time, with Keysha Gorman serving as the point of contact at the Baltimore, Maryland VA office.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to qualified small businesses under SBA guidelines. The procurement is considered urgent due to the complete failure of the existing exhaust fan, which is creating negative impacts on patient care and facility operations that will worsen with continued delays. The replacement system must handle the substantial air volume requirement of 21,160 cubic feet per minute while maintaining 2" static pressure across the multi-story building application. No incumbent contractor or current contract values were specified in the available documentation. The project timeline appears compressed given the urgency of the situation and the relatively short response window of approximately two weeks from the posting date to the submission deadline.
