About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, is seeking sealed bids for a Government Forest Products Sale Pay-As-Cut Timber Contract at Lake O' The Pines in Marion County, Texas. This procurement involves the purchase and removal of government-owned timber from a 50-acre site, including an estimated 1,106 total tons of various timber types: 504 tons of pine sawtimber, 51 tons of pine pulpwood, 200 tons of pine chip-n-saw/pallet, 30 tons of hardwood sawtimber, 246 tons of hardwood pulpwood, and 75 tons of hardwood pallet. Bidders must submit a $2,000 bid deposit and can arrange site inspections between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, by contacting Project Forester Mrs. Stephanie Price at 903-951-4836 with 24 hours advance notice. The sealed bids will be publicly opened on September 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM local time at the Wright Patman Project Office in Texarkana, Texas. All bids are due by the opening time and date specified in the solicitation.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and will be awarded as an open competition. The contract involves a commercial thinning operation where only pre-marked trees identified with blue paint are to be harvested, with specific stipulations requiring minimal damage to residual trees and restricted machinery use. The successful contractor will have access to the timber site through a private property easement road and must complete all harvesting activities by the contract expiration date of December 31, 2026. The place of performance is located at Lake O' The Pines, Texas, with the procurement managed through the Fort Worth District office. While no specific contract value is mentioned, the pay-as-cut structure indicates payment will be based on actual quantities harvested rather than estimated volumes.
