About this opportunity

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command is procuring 1 GB high-speed broadband internet services with WiFi capabilities for nine locations across Marine Corps bases in North Carolina, including Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point, and New River. This sole-source procurement targets Charter Communications Operation LLC under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) authority, justified by the company's existing internet infrastructure at these military installations. The contract requires static IP addresses, hardware support, technical assistance, and wireless connectivity during normal working hours (0630-1730, Monday through Friday), with the contractor providing all necessary materials and maintaining existing internet service at no additional charge. This combined synopsis/solicitation uses simplified acquisition procedures and incorporates standard FAR and DFARS clauses effective through FAC 2025-05. The solicitation period is extremely short, with responses due by August 25, 2025, just six days after posting on August 19, 2025.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is classified as unrestricted competition, though the government clearly intends to negotiate solely with Charter Communications Operation LLC based on their incumbent status and existing infrastructure. The contract establishes a 12-month base period with an option to extend for an additional 12 months, creating a potential total performance period from September 30, 2025, through September 29, 2027. Services will be performed across multiple locations in Havelock, North Carolina, and surrounding areas within a 50-mile radius of current sites, with potential for location expansion through contract modifications. The NAICS code 517111 applies with a small business size standard of 1,500 employees, though no specific contract value is disclosed in the available documentation. No security clearance requirements apply to this commercial internet service contract.
