About this opportunity

The Drug Enforcement Administration issued a sole-source justification notice for renewal of Internet and Telephone services to CoxCom, LLC, with a capability statement deadline of August 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EST. The DEA's Special Operations Division requires the services under FAR 6.103-1 (Only One Responsible Source) authority; CoxCom is the sole proposed contractor because it has already installed the fiber optic cable and IP addresses necessary to support the DEA's operational requirements, and changing providers would create operational hardship by forcing enforcement operations out of service during transition. The required services include public open internet access for foreign VPN connections and internet investigations, cable TV for situational awareness with hardwired backup during inclement weather, and VoIP lines to provide redundant communication should the primary fiber connection fail. The contract will be firm-fixed price, with a one-year term from August 30, 2026 through August 29, 2027. Although the DEA intends to award to CoxCom, any capable source may submit a capability statement to angelbarkley@dea.gov by the deadline; the Government will consider submissions solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, and a final award decision remains within the Government's discretion. This notice is not a request for proposal. NAICS 517810 applies.
