About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Headquarters District Washington (AFDW/PKF) has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to Sigmatech, Inc. for Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) Support Services for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Space Acquisitions and Integration (SAF/SQ). This notice is classified under NAICS code 541715 for Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences. The contract will provide critical support services for space systems acquisition programs with a performance period from August 24, 2025, through February 23, 2026. The sole source award is being made under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3572, which permits contracting officers to solicit from one source when circumstances indicate only one source is reasonably available. The notice was posted on August 18, 2025, with a due date of August 22, 2025.
The primary purpose of this sole source contract is to ensure uninterrupted support for space systems acquisition programs while the government proceeds with a competitive recompete process. The contract includes three firm fixed-price Contract Line Item Numbers covering labor, other direct costs, and travel expenses. The sole source justification stems from delays in the competitive follow-on procurement caused by implementation of cost efficiency executive orders, necessitating this six-month bridge contract to maintain continuity of services. Only the incumbent contractor, Sigmatech, Inc., can provide the required services without a transition period, making it the only reasonably available source. The competitive recompete timeline shows an acquisition plan approval date of August 15, 2025, with the request for proposal due October 7, 2025, contract award anticipated for February 20, 2026, and the new contract start date of February 22, 2026.

The services anticipate a period of performance from 24 August 2025 through 23 February 2026. See attached Justification & Approval document for further information.
