About this opportunity
The Library of Congress has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to sole source a contract for maintenance and support of Pyramix Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) equipment at the National Audiovisual Conservation Center (NAVCC) in Culpeper. The notice specifically targets the procurement of ongoing hardware and software maintenance for twelve existing DAW systems. Sennheiser Electronic Corp. has been identified as the preferred contractor due to their unique certification as the only North American company authorized to maintain the proprietary Pyramix system's source code. The procurement is designed to support the Library's digital preservation efforts, specifically aligned with the Federal Agency Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) for preserving historical and cultural content. The contract is structured for a base year from 06/03/2025 to 06/02/2026, with potential extension through four additional one-year option periods.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit a comprehensive capability statement not exceeding five double-spaced pages by April 16, 2025. The capability statement must include specific details such as company name, SAM UEI, contact information, corporate structure, professional references, and resumes for key personnel with relevant experience. While the Library intends to sole source the contract to Sennheiser, they will consider alternative vendors who can demonstrate the ability to meet the detailed Statement of Work requirements. The SOW specifies rigorous service standards, including web portal access, software issue resolution, and support availability five days per week. Potential contractors must have certified technicians with at least three years of experience in Pyramix equipment design, manufacturing, repair, or maintenance. The Library reserves the right to proceed with a sole source award if the submitted capability statements do not meet their stringent requirements.
