About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command has issued an Intent to Sole Source Special Notice for the procurement of 170 copies of the Air Force Wargame Indo-Pacific board games. The 42nd Contracting Squadron at Maxwell AFB, Alabama is seeking to award a contract to Gamecrafter.com for manufacturing these specialized board games for the Squadron Officer School. This procurement falls under NAICS code 339930 (Doll, Toy, and Game Manufacturing) and will utilize Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13 as a Firm-Fixed Price contract. Each game set must include specific components such as color-printed card cases, 4-sided dice in red and blue, colored cylinders, wooden damage markers, and printed instructions. The games are specifically developed by the Air Force Wargaming Institute and can allegedly only be mass-produced by Gamecrafter.com due to their exclusive templates.
The primary objective of this procurement is to incorporate these wargames into the new Squadron Officer School 2.0 curriculum to teach Air Force Captains fundamental wargaming principles at tactical and operational levels. This educational initiative aims to enhance Captains' understanding of wargaming concepts, enabling them to develop more sophisticated wargames for real-world scenarios. Potential vendors have until July 7, 2025, at 12:00 pm CST to submit capability information demonstrating they can meet the requirements, including company details, contact information, business type and size, CAGE Code, and DUNS number. Responses must be submitted via email to designated contracting personnel at Maxwell AFB. If no responsive offers are received by the deadline, the Air Force will proceed with issuing a sole source contract directly to Gamecrafter.com. The technical specifications require production-quality game sets comparable to commercial board games, with delivery to Major Lindsey Hale at Maxwell AFB.
