About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force issued a notice of intent to sole-source award to Biospace, Inc dba InBody for three InBody 770S Body Fat Assessment Machines, with interested parties able to submit quotes or capability statements by 10:00 AM CDT on September 6, 2026. The Air Force determined that only one source is reasonably capable of meeting this requirement under FAR 12.102(a); market research on the GSA schedule identified Biospace as the sole small business vendor meeting specification, and a previously posted Sources Sought notice on SAM.gov yielded no alternative capable vendors. The 81st Contracting Squadron justified the non-competitive award under RFO 8.401 and GSAR 538.7104-3(a) for FSS Orders. Although this is not a request for competitive proposals, the Government will consider all proposals received and retains sole discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received. Interested parties should submit materials via email to markos.mendoza@us.af.mil and kristopher.kostenko@us.af.mil. The procurement supports IAWA DAFMAN 36-2905 requirements and falls under NAICS 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing) and PSC 6515 (Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies).
