About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District has issued a Special Notice for an Industry Day event related to the Indian River Inlet North Jetty Repair Project, scheduled for March 5, 2025, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The project focuses on repairing degraded sections of the north rubble mound jetty and constructing a north jetty head at the Indian River Inlet, located in Sussex County, Delaware. The federal navigation project involves a complex coastal environment with challenging hydrodynamics and steep slopes into a tidal inlet. The event will be held at the Delaware Seashore State Park, with an initial site visit followed by a meeting at the park's office. The project location features parallel jetties constructed in 1940, with specific navigation channel specifications extending to the Millsboro highway bridge.
Marine construction industry contractors interested in participating must pre-register by March 3, 2025, by emailing Connor Struckmeyer with specific registration details, including name, company, contact information, and industry relationship. The event is a non-fee opportunity with limited seating, designed to seek input on best practices for technical execution of the jetty repair project. Contractors are required to provide a count of attendees and understand that this is not a contract solicitation or a commitment to future work. Staging areas will be provided adjacent to the inlet and within Delaware Seashore State Park. The government will not conduct one-on-one discussions about potential contracts during the event. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback about the project's technical aspects. All interested marine construction contractors are welcome to participate, with the primary goal of gathering industry insights for the complex coastal engineering project.
