About this opportunity
The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (CARD), issued a Notice of Intent to award a sole-source firm-fixed-price contract to The Jackson Laboratory for expansion, quality control, curation, biobanking, and distribution of up to 936 isogenic Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines under the iPSC Neurodegenerative Disease Initiative (iNDI), with capability statements due by June 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. EST.
The work encompasses 486 female SNV lines and 450 additional iPSC lines across six genetic backgrounds, performed at the contractor's facility with a base year running September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027, and three optional renewal years extending through August 31, 2030. The contractor must expand and quality-control all lines per iNDI protocols, create product web content for each line, and distribute approved lots through a contractor-hosted website. Market research supports sole-source award to The Jackson Laboratory based on its role as the only known source maintaining existing iNDI distribution infrastructure and prior successful performance.
The Government invites any responsible source that believes it can satisfy requirements to submit a capability statement addressing five specified capability areas, company information, UEI/CAGE code, business size and socioeconomic status, technical point of contact, and past performance. The Government reserves the right to conduct competitive procurement based on responses received. Primary contact: Linda Smith, Contracting Officer (linda.smith2@nih.gov); secondary contact: Danielle Tines, Procurement Technician (danielle.tines@nih.gov).
