About this opportunity

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has issued a Special Notice for the repair of an Illumina MiSeq next-generation sequencing instrument. NOAA intends to award a single-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Illumina Inc. to restore the non-operational instrument to full functionality at NOAA's facility in Santa Cruz, CA.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to gauge industry interest and capability in performing the required repair. NOAA is seeking capability statements from interested parties by June 15, 2024, which must include technical data, cost information, and evidence demonstrating the ability to meet the requirement. NOAA will use the responses to determine whether to proceed with a sole-source award to Illumina or conduct a competitive procurement. The repair must be completed as soon as possible, as the non-operational instrument has resulted in a complete stoppage of work on the majority of the division's projects.

A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
