About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service, Region 4 - Intermountain Region, has issued a pre-solicitation notice for a contract to perform deferred maintenance on six airstrips located within the Payette and Boise National Forests in Idaho. The scope of work includes culvert replacement, windsock installation, boundary marker maintenance, toilet building installation, grading, clearing and grubbing, sign installation, tie-down installation, and asphalt repair. Three of the airstrips are situated within the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, requiring the use of only hand tools and horse-drawn equipment. A site visit is scheduled for November 5, 2024, at the Idaho City Airstrip to allow interested vendors to assess the project sites prior to the full solicitation being issued at a later date.
This contract opportunity has been designated for small business participation, and the estimated magnitude of the construction work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation number is 1240LT25R0004, and the NAICS code is 236220 - Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. No information is provided regarding potential incumbent contractors or the specific award value, but the project timeline and scope suggest it is a sizable undertaking to address deferred maintenance on the airstrips across the two national forests.
