About this file

This document is a pre-solicitation notice for an upcoming contract opportunity to perform deferred maintenance on six airstrips located in the Payette and Boise National Forests in Idaho.

The project includes culvert replacement, windsock installation, boundary marker maintenance, toilet building installation, grading, clearing and grubbing, sign installation, tie-down installation, asphalt repair, and related work. Three of the airstrips are located within the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, requiring the use of only hand tools and horse-drawn equipment. The estimated magnitude of the construction work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The Forest Service is hosting a site visit on November 5, 2024 at the Idaho City Airstrip for interested vendors to assess the project site prior to the full solicitation being issued at a later date when the sites may be inaccessible due to seasonal weather conditions.
