About this opportunity
VA Network Contracting Office 21 has awarded a limited-source contract to TrillaMed LLC for removal and replacement of twenty-two ICU ceiling-mounted boom systems at VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in North Las Vegas, Nevada, with an estimated value of $2,953,641.36.
The justification, cited under GSAM 538.7104-3(b)(ii), establishes that only one source is capable of providing the required products and services due to unique functional characteristics and compatibility requirements. The existing ICU boom infrastructure was installed using Stryker tandem mounting plates and support structures engineered, validated, and load-rated for current and future Stryker replacements. Selecting an alternative manufacturer would require engineering evaluation for compatibility with existing structural support and mounting hardware, introducing additional validation requirements, installation complexity, and potential cost impacts. VASNHCS has maintained Stryker standardization across the ICU, Operating Room, and Special Procedures Unit for approximately fifteen years, with clinical workflows and the Biomedical Engineering Department's certification and maintenance training built around the Stryker platform. Market research via GSA eBUY on May 21, 2026, yielded four SDVOSB responses; only TrillaMed confirmed capability to provide Stryker booms and perform installation. TrillaMed is a Service-disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business located in Southfield, Michigan. The award is a delivery order against GSA FSS Contract Number 36F79720D0041. Contracting Officer Jose A. Hernandez, Director of Contracting Nicholas Kluch, and Head of Contracting Activity Curtis M. Jordan approved the justification on June 30, 2026. Award date was July 29, 2026.
