About this opportunity
The National Gallery of Art is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive ice rink equipment servicing, repair, and seasonal management services. The primary scope involves spring installation and fall disassembly of specific ice rink infrastructure, including an aluminum skate rental pavilion, ramps, platforms, Zamboni pavilion, and a custom dasher board system. The contractor will be responsible for transportation, off-season storage, preventive maintenance, and repair of the Gallery's Zamboni ice resurfacer machine (model 545). While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contract appears to require technical expertise in equipment installation, maintenance, and seasonal management of ice rink facilities. The opportunity was posted on June 26, 2024, with a response deadline of December 18, 2024, providing potential contractors approximately six months to prepare and submit their proposals.
No specific set-aside designations are indicated for this contract opportunity. The contract falls under the NAICS category 81131 for commercial and industrial machinery and equipment repair and maintenance, suggesting the ideal contractor will have specialized technical skills in equipment servicing. While the pre-solicitation notice does not specify potential award values or precise budget ranges, the comprehensive nature of services suggests a substantial contract scope. The services will be seasonal, focusing on spring installation and fall disassembly, with additional year-round maintenance responsibilities for the Zamboni machine. The contract will require precise scheduling, adherence to security procedures, and the ability to manage complex equipment across installation, storage, and maintenance phases.
