About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces has issued a Special Notice for the procurement of a Hyperlite 1 Portable Hyperbaric Chamber intended for use at Misawa Air Base in Japan. The specific requirement is for a military-specification hyperbaric chamber that is man-portable and capable of performing United States Navy Dive Table 6 treatments during land, air, and sea transportation. The chamber must have "safe to fly" certification from the United States Air Force Research Laboratory (USAFRL) and include a comprehensive maintenance pack and 5-year preventative maintenance plan. Based on the government's market research, they believe this is the only soft-sided, man-portable hyperbaric chamber that can meet their precise operational requirements. The opportunity is associated with Request for Quote FA520525QB004 and is not currently set aside for any specific business category.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for the acquisition and to identify potential contractors capable of meeting the specific technical requirements. Interested parties must submit written documentation clearly and unambiguously identifying their capability to satisfy the requirements on or before December 13, 2024. Any questions regarding the notice must be submitted in writing via email to 2d Lt Hunter Closs and SSgt Elijah Braly no later than December 6, 2024, at 1630 Japan Standard Time. The government will use the submitted information solely to determine competitive acquisition potential, with the ultimate decision remaining at their discretion. The opportunity includes not only the hyperbaric chamber procurement but also comprehensive training requirements, including a 5-day Operations and Patient Care Training Course for up to 10 clinicians and a 1-day Servicing and Maintenance Training course for up to 5 Biomedical Repair Technicians, to be conducted between March 1, 2025, and September 30, 2025.
