About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified contractors to establish and operate a Contractor-Operated Parts Store (COPARS) for the 75th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Hill Air Force Base. The contractor will be responsible for all supervision, labor, and equipment necessary to research, order, receive, stock, inventory, and issue automotive and equipment parts in accordance with the provided Performance Work Statement. Key requirements include providing adequate personnel for daily in-house duties and parts pickup at least twice daily from local vendors, maintaining 80% on-shelf availability for fast-moving parts with four-hour fulfillment for out-of-stock items, and ensuring all parts meet or exceed original equipment manufacturer specifications. The RFI is issued solely for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposal or commit the Government to contract; however, interested parties should monitor sam.gov for any future solicitation. The response deadline for this RFI is March 17, 2026, and potential offerors are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI.
This procurement is set aside as a Total Small Business contract under NAICS Code 493110 (General Warehousing and Storage) with a corresponding size standard of $34.0 million. The incumbent contractor is Automotive and Industrial Supply (AIS), which has held contract FA820120D0004 since October 2020. The anticipated contract period of performance is five years, beginning on or around April 1, 2026, and extending through March 31, 2031, with an option period from April 1, 2031 through October 31, 2031. The contractor will provide parts and services to the 75th ABW, HQ/UTTR-Dugway, and four squadrons (309 AMXG, MMXG, CMXG, EMXG, and MXSG) from a 425-square-foot facility in building 1243 at Hill Air Force Base. While specific contract value is not disclosed in the RFI, small businesses meeting the $34.0 million size standard are encouraged to respond to this market research effort.
