About this opportunity
The United States Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) is conducting market research to identify sources capable of providing High Definition (HD) Hoist and Cabin Camera Systems for its fleet of over 120 MH-60 and MH-65 rotary-wing aircraft. This is a Sources Sought notice issued for informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment to award a contract. Respondents must address detailed technical specifications including camera dimensions not exceeding 2.25" x 2.25" with a maximum weight of 2.0 lbs per unit, operation from 28VDC power with RG-179 coaxial data interface, and HD video output capability (720p, 1080p, or 4K). Environmental compliance requirements include operation across -40C to +70C, waterproofing to RTCA DO-160 standards, saltwater corrosion resistance, altitude capability to 10,000 feet AGL, and adherence to military standards including MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-461E/G, MIL-STD-810H, and RTCA/DO-160E/G. Responses are due by April 18, 2026, and should not exceed 10 pages excluding product data sheets, submitted in PDF format to Jackson.S.Perry@uscg.mil and referencing RFI Number 70Z026IE0000004. Questions and clarifications were addressed in an amendment posted on April 14, 2026, providing vendors with additional guidance on system integration, camera mounting, and recording functionality requirements.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designations and does not identify any incumbent contractors or current award values. Respondents must provide comprehensive company information, technical specifications, past performance with military or aviation systems, existing government contracts or General Services Administration schedules, rough order of magnitude pricing, production capacity, and delivery timelines. The hoist camera must include a 3.6mm lens with 54 x 70 field of view for monitoring cable path during hoisting operations, while the cabin camera requires a 3.05mm lens with 74 x 90 field of view. The equipment will interface with a Digital Video Recorder system that stores data and enables extraction to a Windows 11 PC via removable memory units, eliminating the need for direct operating system integration. Potential vendors should monitor the federal opportunity posting site for any subsequent formal solicitation announcements, as this Sources Sought notice is intended to assess market availability and inform the development of future acquisition documents.
