**PLEASE READ: THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. NO OTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE UNTIL THE SOLICITATION IS ISSUED ON THE DATE IDENTIFIED BELOW**
Solicitation Documents: The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) requiring both price and technical proposals responding to evaluation criteria described in the solicitation. Documents will only be available electronically to download from this website on or about July 9, 2012.
Project Description: This project is to secure services for replacing an existing steel truss trail bridge on the Ukonom Ranger District of the Klamath National that is administered by the Six Rivers National Forest. The primary work items include removal of the existing bridge, surveying, installation of a new bridge, installing retaining walls adjacent to the existing abutments, clearing and grubbing to remove debris near the abutments, removal of approximately 6 downed trees on the trail near the bridge, logging out approximately ½ mile of trail and falling designated hazard trees at the project site.

Location: The project area is located within the Marble Mountain Wilderness Area and is located on the Ukonom District of the Klamath Rivers National Forest administered by the Six Rivers National Forest. The project location is approximately 7 miles in off the closest road along the Wooley Creek Trail (#5832). The legal location is in Township12 North, Range 7 East, and Section 16 along the Humboldt Meridian. The geographic coordinates are Latitude 41.43325° N, Longitude 123.38061° W, and elevation 1,300 feet. Project lies within Siskiyou County near the town of Somes Bar, California.
Price Range: $100,000 - $250,000
Contract Time: 154 Calendar Days
Estimated Start Date: Seasonal restrictions do not allow contract activities from January 1 until after August 31. Therefore, contract time can start on September 1, 2012.
Set-Aside: This project is 100% set aside for Small Business.
Bonds: A Bid guarantee is required with the offer. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful contractor within 10 days of award.
Response Location: Offers will be accepted at the Northern California Acquisition Service Area, Redding Office, located within the Shasta-Trinity National Forest Headquarters at 3644 Avtech Parkway, Redding, CA 96002 NO LATER than 4:30 p.m. PDT on date indicated on solicitation.
CCR and ORCA REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and On-line Representation and Certification Application (ORCA) databases prior to award of contract.
