Update #1 ·
This contract will serve to be the mechanism to allow for the harvest of selected trees within the boundaries of NSA Crane to provide material for the USS Constitution located in the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston Massachusetts. The estimated number of trees to be harvested and transported over this 3-year period is between 35 and 50 trees. Crane has over 100 trees located to fit these requirements throughout the installation. Many of these trees are located in groups of various sizes while others are singles dotted throughout the installation. It is the intent to harvest 35 of these trees between the months of October, 2013 and April, 2014 and transport them to a storage facility on NSA Crane for storage. The logs will remain at this storage facility until the ship is brought into "drydock" in October of 2014 when the renovation will begin.
