About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard, specifically the Department of Homeland Security, has issued a Special Notice for technical services related to the CGC HAMILTON's main diesel engine. The notice concerns an emergent need to troubleshoot load sharing issues with the Number 1 Ships Service Diesel Generator (SSDG). A critical issue has been identified with a cracked fuel injector fuel pump roller bearing along the camshaft of the vessel's main diesel engine. The contract opportunity has already been awarded due to the urgent nature of the repair requirements. The solicitation is categorized under Ship Building and Repairing (NAICS 336611) and Marine Equipment Maintenance/Repair (PSC J020).
Rolls Royce Service America (RRSA) has been selected to provide a certified technical representative to perform a comprehensive inspection and diagnostic assessment of the engine. The technical representative's primary objectives include opening and inspecting the number one main diesel engine, developing a detailed parts list, and creating a restoration plan to return the engine to normal operational status. The contract specifies a short performance period from 03 JUN 2025 to 05 JUN 2025, with the contractor required to deliver a final report within 3 days of the contract period. The place of performance is Naval Station Mayport in Florida, and the final report must be addressed to the Engineering Officer at CGC HAMILTON. The primary point of contact for this opportunity is CWO Matthew Temple from USCG-SFLC-LRE PL Asset Management, who can be reached via email at matthew.temple@uscg.mil or by phone at 510-460-8195.
