About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 seeks annual fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance services for three Central Texas facilities, with the revised proposal deadline of October 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM Central Time. This procurement is a 100-percent Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside; only contractors certified as SDVOSB in the SBA database are eligible.
Place of performance includes Temple (1901 Veterans Memorial Drive), Waco (4800 Memorial Drive), and Austin (7901 Metropolis Drive). The work covers approximately 970 fire extinguishers requiring annual inspections and 5-year, 6-year, 10-year, and 12-year maintenance and hydrostatic testing in accordance with NFPA Standard 10. All inspection, maintenance, recharge, and hydrostatic testing must be performed directly by the prime contractor; subcontracting for services is not permitted (materials procurement only is allowable). Temporary replacement extinguishers are required only when units are removed for 6-year maintenance, hydrostatic testing, or recharge. Work must be completed within 60 calendar days of award and start within 30 calendar days. Contractor personnel must hold NFPA-10 certifications, DOT/manufacturer hydrostatic test certifications, and valid VA PIV badges. Inspection reports must be submitted in Excel format organized by extinguisher serial number, campus, building, room location, type, manufacturer, manufacturer's date, and service performed.
The estimated total award is $12.5 million across four option periods. The NAICS code is 811310, Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Repair and Maintenance.
