About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Boston Healthcare System is seeking annual boiler maintenance services for their facility located at 1400 VFW Parkway in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. This procurement falls under NAICS code 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery and equipment repair and maintenance, with the contract to be awarded as a Firm-Fixed Price arrangement. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to contract award, and all questions regarding the procurement should be directed to Contracting Officer Issa Shawki at issa.shawki@va.gov. The government intends to award the contract to the responsive offeror whose proposal conforms to the solicitation requirements and provides the most advantageous combination of price and other evaluated factors. The solicitation document (36C24125Q0563) became available for download on June 16, 2025, with all proposals due by June 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
This procurement opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, restricting competition exclusively to qualified small business enterprises. The solicitation will not be available through traditional mailing methods, requiring all interested parties to download the documents electronically. The contract relates to maintaining boiler systems within the VA healthcare facility, which is critical infrastructure supporting patient care and facility operations. While specific contract values, quantities, or service timelines are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the annual nature of the maintenance suggests an ongoing service requirement. No incumbent contractor information is provided in the available documentation, and the tight seven-day response window from solicitation release to proposal submission indicates this may be a time-sensitive procurement need.
