About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has published a Special Notice announcing their intent to award a sole source contract for X-ray wearables cleaning and testing services. The VA plans to negotiate directly with Radiological Care Services LLC of Indianapolis, Indiana, under FAR 6.302.1, which permits sole source procurement when only one responsible source can satisfy agency requirements. This is a firm fixed price contract with a one-year performance period from September 12, 2025, to September 11, 2026, serving the VA Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. The procurement falls under NAICS code 561320 (Temporary Help Services) with a size standard of $34 million.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contractor community of the VA's intention to proceed with sole source procurement due to the specialized nature of the X-ray wearables cleaning and testing services required. Interested parties who believe they can provide competitive alternatives must submit responses by 3:00 PM Eastern on July 28, 2025, via email to the designated contracting officer at Alexis.Alexander1@va.gov. Any responses must include clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, as the determination not to compete remains solely at the Government's discretion. The contractor will be responsible for providing all parts, labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to fulfill the service requirements in strict accordance with the statement of work and contract terms. No solicitation package is available, and the VA emphasizes that this procurement is being pursued on a sole source basis due to the unique and specialized requirements involved.
