About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 17 is seeking qualified sources to provide dosimetry badges and related services for the Amarillo VA Health Care System and Lubbock VA Clinic. This is a Sources Sought Notice intended to identify potential vendors capable of supplying NIST NVLAP-accredited dosimetry badges that calculate multiple dose equivalents including Deep Dose Equivalent, Eye Dose Equivalent, and Total Effective Dose Equivalent, among others. Key contract requirements include providing a web-based database for personnel management and badge tracking, delivering exposure reports within 14 days, maintaining separate fetal dosimetry monitoring for pregnant employees, and issuing immediate ALARA notifications for high exposures. Interested businesses must respond to Contract Specialist Anitra Carter at anitra.carter@va.gov by January 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM Central Time, identifying their business name, SAM UEI, business type, and providing a capabilities statement if available. The government explicitly states this notice is informational only and does not constitute a formal solicitation; responses are not binding offers, and respondents are solely responsible for all associated response costs.
The procurement includes no set-aside designations at this time, though the government notes that responses may be used to determine potential future set-asides for the requirement. The contract is structured as firm-fixed price with a 12-month period of performance, requiring annual delivery of approximately 85 collar dosimeters and 3 finger dosimeters, with potential for 45 to 90 active participants across five service areas at Amarillo (Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Surgery, Dental, and Biomed) and one location at Lubbock. All postage, shipping, sorting, packing, duplicate reporting, set-up fees, and ALARA reporting are included in a flat monthly rate, with deliveries required 10 days in advance of wear periods. The contractor must comply with federal records management, privacy, and information security requirements while maintaining restricted access to VA systems and patient health information. No incumbent contractor information or specific budget values are disclosed in the sources sought notice at this preliminary stage.
