About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) is seeking a qualified contractor to perform comprehensive repair services for a Grove 50T crane (Model TMS700E) used by the 823d RED HORSE Squadron. The pre-solicitation notice outlines a detailed Statement of Work requiring the selected contractor to provide complete management, tools, equipment, labor, and technical expertise to test, tear down, quote, and execute authorized repairs at their own facility. Specific repair requirements include software updates, hydraulic system repairs, transmission fluid changes, mechanical component replacements, and comprehensive operational checks. The contract opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside, with a narrow submission window from February 7-13, 2025. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed, the notice suggests that adherence to Grove specifications, OSHA regulations, and ability to perform comprehensive equipment repair will be critical assessment factors.

The pre-solicitation notice is categorized under NAICS code 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery repair and maintenance, with a Product Service Code (PSC) of J036 for special industry machinery maintenance and repair. Transportation of the crane to and from the repair facility will be handled by the 823d RED HORSE Squadron, which minimizes logistical burden on the contractor. The crane in question is a 2009 model with Vehicle Identification Number 476S700E59S229552, indicating a relatively mature piece of equipment requiring specialized maintenance. While no specific contract value is mentioned, the comprehensive nature of required repairs suggests a potentially significant service contract. The procurement process emphasizes the use of original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-approved parts and strict adherence to manufacturer specifications, indicating a high standard of technical competence will be expected from potential contractors.
