About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command, specifically the 23d Contracting Squadron at Moody AFB, is soliciting a commercial procurement for 900 tons of Granite #57 gravel to restore surfaces at the Grassy Pond RV Park. The solicitation, issued on February 3, 2025, requires contractors to deliver clean, angular granite sized between 1/2" and 1" to 5360 Grassy Pond Rd in Lake Park, Georgia. The project stems from damage caused by recent hurricanes and tropical storms that created uneven and unsafe surfaces in the recreational area. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed, the solicitation indicates contractors must meet small business requirements and provide a standard 1-year warranty covering material defects. Proposals are due by February 11, 2025, with a performance period of 30 days from contract award.
This solicitation is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, targeting smaller contractors in the Construction Sand and Gravel Mining sector. The contract will be performed at the off-base Grassy Pond recreational facility located in Lake Park, GA 31636, with deliveries permitted Monday through Friday between 0800-1600 hours. Contractors must provide dump trucks or equivalent vehicles capable of safely unloading the required 900 tons of gravel at designated drop-off points, though they will not be responsible for spreading the material. The procurement falls under NAICS category 212321 and Product Service Code 5610, focusing on mineral construction materials. While no specific budget range is mentioned, the project requires precise logistical coordination, including compliance with local road and bridge weight limits and adherence to unloading specifications outlined in the Statement of Work.
