About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing contractor inquiries about the delivery of 900 tons of Granite #57 to Grassy Pond at Moody AFB. The Q&A clarifies that while semi-trucks can access the delivery location, contractors are responsible for unloading the granite as the trucks cannot hydraulically dump the material. Contractors must also ensure compliance with local road and bridge weight limits in Lowndes County.
The document also addresses warranty requirements, specifying that the one-year manufacturer's warranty must cover defects in the stone's color, texture, consistency, and damage from cracking, breaking, or erosion. The warranty explicitly excludes damage from improper installation, maintenance, use, or normal wear and tear. Grassy Pond personnel will handle spreading the granite but are not responsible for unloading operations.

Q&A
· Can you tell me if a semi truck can fit for delivery of the granite?
A semi-truck can maneuver in and out of Grassy Pond. However, they are going to have some interesting issues trying to get that granite out of the back of the semi-truck to the spot they are needing to place it. “A semi-truck can be used to deliver the 900 tons of granite #57. However, as the SOW states, contractors are responsible for unloading the granite from whatever avenue they think is best to deliver to Grassy Pond. Grassy Pond is responsible for spreading out the granite, but not for unloading it. Semi-trucks also do not have the ability to hydraulically dump the granite, so the contractor would need to account for the labor of an individual(s) who will assist in unloading the truck. Lastly, the roads and bridges around Lowndes County have weight limits, so it would be up to the contractor to ensure that the semi-trucks they are utilizing with the granite do not exceed the allowed for weight limits.”
· I see you all are asking for a one year warranty for the aggregate that will be delivered. What are you requiring to be included in the one year warranty? Or and what case are you looking to get the aggregate replace under the warranty?
The manufacturer warrants that the Granite #57 will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase or installation. The warranty covers defects in the stone's color, texture, or consistency, as well as damage from cracking, breaking, or erosion. However, the warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, maintenance, or use, or normal wear and tear.
