About this opportunity

The US Embassy in Bangkok is preparing to solicit a health insurance contract for its operations in Thailand, with a pre-solicitation notice indicating a comprehensive procurement for medical insurance services. The Department of State will be issuing this solicitation through SAM.gov, targeting Direct Health and Medical Insurance Carriers under NAICS code 524114. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database prior to submitting an offer, and all responsible sources may submit a quotation. A virtual pre-quotation conference will be announced in the formal solicitation, and no electronic offers will be accepted, with physical mail submissions required.

The contract opportunity encompasses a base year with four one-year option periods and an additional six-month option, potentially extending the total contract duration to five-and-a-half years. No specific set-aside designations are noted, meaning the opportunity is open to all qualifying contractors. The solicitation is subject to FAR 52.229-12 regarding tax on certain foreign procurements and will be issued for health insurance services specific to the US Embassy in Bangkok. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contract will be structured as a firm fixed price arrangement with provisions for economic price adjustments.
