About this opportunity

The National Park Service Intermountain Region is seeking a contractor to repair a snowplow blade currently in use at Glacier National Park in Montana. The repair services required include corrective and protective work to restore blade alignment, ensure proper contact with the road surface, and protect repaired areas from corrosion through the application of protective coatings. This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice (Solicitation No. 140P1426Q0033) issued for market research purposes to determine the availability and capability of qualified contractors, including small businesses and socioeconomically disadvantaged firms such as 8(a) small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, and women-owned small businesses. Interested parties must submit responses by February 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time via email to the Contracting Officer, Kiara Stewart, at kiara_stewart@nps.gov, with submissions including firm identification, SAM registration status, size status and SBA certifications, and a capability statement not exceeding 10 pages along with a rough price estimate for government market research purposes only. No formal evaluation criteria have been specified at this pre-solicitation stage, as the government is conducting market research prior to determining whether to proceed with a competitive procurement.

This Pre-Solicitation Notice does not utilize any set-aside designations, meaning all contractors meeting the qualifications are eligible to respond. The specific blade being repaired is a Henke Manufacturing Model 30-60-12ISR.SLT.SIS1 (Serial Number 28268), and the contractor must restore it to as straight and flat a condition as reasonably achievable, including removal and reattachment of the cutting-edge and backing supports and full corrosion protection painting of all affected surfaces. No incumbent contractor is identified in this notice, and no specific award value or budget range has been disclosed at this pre-solicitation stage. The blade may be transported within a 50-mile radius from West Glacier, Montana to the repair facility, and the estimated period of performance is to be determined pending the government's evaluation of market research responses. Prospective contractors should direct all technical questions in writing to the contracting officer, as phone inquiries are not permitted.
