About this opportunity

The 42nd Contracting Squadron at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama issued a sole-source notice on August 31, 2026 with a September 4, 2026 response deadline, announcing its intent to award a contract to Sunbelt Fire, Inc. for procurement and installation of a Bauer Air Compressor Workstation at Gunter Fire Station. The government intends sole source award under RFO 5.101(a), but will consider competitive alternatives if other qualified vendors respond by the deadline.

The requirement replaces a 22-year-old Maco SCBA air compressor. The contractor must supply all labor, materials, tools, equipment, engineering support, and technical expertise to provide and install the Bauer Unicus 4S compressor workstation in accordance with the attached Statement of Requirements. The equipment includes a 6000 psi 13.0 scfm compressor with 10 HP motor, full gauge panel, emergency stop switch, UL-listed electrical assembly in NEMA 4 enclosure, Bauer PLC-based controller with 7-inch color HMI touch screen, P2 B-Securus purification system, automatic condensate drain, remote fill option with 100-foot hose reel, electronic carbon monoxide monitor with calibration kit, and sound attenuating enclosure. The compressor must be brand new; refurbished items are prohibited. Installation requires relocating the existing power supply disconnect panel and water supply shut-off valve. Delivery is to Building 834 at Maxwell/Gunter Annex. The contractor must provide original equipment manufacturer standard commercial warranties, all manufacturer documentation, written warranty procedures with technical support contact information, and training for fire department personnel.

Interested contractors must submit written responses by September 4, 2026 at 12:00 PM CST to A1C Jonathan Cheslo (jonathan.cheslo@us.af.mil, 334-953-8994) or Ms. Tatyana Webb (tatyana.webb@us.af.mil, 334-953-3538). Responses must include company information (name, CAGE code, business size, address, point of contact), detailed capabilities addressing the entire requirement with supporting documentation, and any additional information relevant to determining whether the requirement should be opened to competition. Respondents will not be reimbursed for response costs.
