This solicitation is for maintenance dredging services along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway in North Carolina. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires dredging approximately 350,000 cubic yards of shoaled material from channels between Tyrrell and Brunswick counties to a depth of 12 feet plus 2 feet of overdepth allowance. Dredged materials must be disposed at approved ocean beaches from November 16 to March 31 or April 30 depending on location, as well as upland disposal islands. The contract will be awarded on a firm fixed price basis. The bid opening date was July 18, 2023.
This is a 100% small business set-aside with a North American Industry Classification System code of 237990 and size standard of $37 million. The estimated value is between $5-10 million. Dredging must be performed using a hydraulic cutter suction dredge. The place of performance is Wilmington, North Carolina. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to perform maintenance dredging of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, North Carolina, North Contract
The work includes maintenance dredging of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) channel between Tyrrell and Brunswick County. The AIWW maintenance dredging work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels since the various areas were last dredged. Dredging depth is 12’ required depth plus 2’ of allowable overdepth for the AIWW channels. The estimated quantities of material to be dredged are 350,000 cubic yards from the AIWW per solicitation. Disposal of dredged material will be on approved ocean beaches and upland disposal islands. The disposal islands are confined disposal areas with containment dikes and spillway systems. Spillway system repairs at the disposal islands may be required. All dredging shall be performed by hydraulic cutter suction dredge. There is an environmental window for placement of dredged material on ocean beaches which extends from 16 November to 31 March or from 16 November to 30 April depending on the beach disposal area location. There is no environmental dredging window for the AIWW channels.
This solicitation is a 100% Small Business set-aside.
The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price.
The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, facsimiles, etc) will be provided. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored.
