About this opportunity
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Fort Eisenhower has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract to Qiagen for service and repair of laboratory instrumentation. The contract specifically covers 11 Advanced XL Robots and 1 EZ2 Instrument, with the procurement authorized under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Qiagen is being selected as the sole provider due to being the original manufacturer and the only authorized company capable of supporting these products in Georgia. The contract opportunity is classified under the Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing NAICS category (334516) and involves maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment. The Special Notice was published on January 30, 2025, with a response deadline of February 7, 2025.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to secure a comprehensive service agreement that includes priority technical support, preventative maintenance, and repair services for specialized laboratory instrumentation. Contractors interested in responding must provide documentation demonstrating their capability to fulfill the requirement, though the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the requirement. The service agreement encompasses priority technical support within 48 hours, one preventative maintenance service per visit, and repair visits as needed, with all labor, genuine replacement parts, and travel expenses covered. Eligibility is effectively limited to Qiagen, as the sole authorized provider, though the notice technically allows other parties to express interest by the 3:00 pm EST deadline on February 7, 2025. Interested parties are instructed to email responses or questions to Maria Campbell at maria.campbell14.civ@army.mil, with the understanding that the government will not reimburse any costs incurred in preparing a response.
