About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces is seeking contractor services for the repair of one existing tip-up aircraft hangar door at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska. The scope of work includes repairs to mechanical operating systems, replacement of counterweight systems, installation of hangar door insulation and cladding, heated hangar door thresholds, and all incidental work necessary to restore full operational capability. This contract falls under the Other Building Equipment Contractors NAICS category (238290) and the Maintenance of Other Airfield Structures PSC category (Z1BZ). The pre-solicitation notice was posted on March 19, 2026, with an April 3, 2026 deadline, providing potential bidders with approximately two weeks to prepare their responses. A critical project requirement is that the hangar will remain partially occupied and operational during construction, necessitating careful coordination with Government officials to maintain mission operations.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, limiting competition to small business concerns. No incumbent contractor or award value information is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The contract involves repair and restoration work on a single hangar door facility, with the scope emphasizing mechanical systems upgrades, insulation improvements, and threshold installation. While specific budget parameters are not provided at this pre-solicitation stage, the comprehensive nature of the required repairs suggests a moderate to substantial construction project. Interested small business contractors should note the tight timeline for submission and begin preparing their qualifications and capability statements to meet the April 3, 2026 deadline.
