The contractor shall provide all management, personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and applicable licenses necessary for the maintenance of the floating breakwater, as defined in the attached Performance Work Statement except for those items specified as government furnished property and services. The work is located at the Friday Harbor Marina, at Friday Harbor, San Juan County, Washington.
The Friday Harbor breakwater is located in the town of Friday Harbor along the waterfront adjacent to the ferry terminal, Washington. The breakwater consists of two floating concrete breakwaters totaling 1,600 feet in length. The north breakwater is 330 feet long and 21 feet wide and the east breakwater is 1,260 feet long consisting of three legs (330 by 21 feet, 300 by 16 feet, 300 by 16 feet).
The work includes the following: 1) Repair all damaged concrete focusing around the bases of the handrail. This requires both the injection of cracks in the deck and exposed sides of the breakwater as well as spall repairs. The cracks shall be repaired using a pressure injection system and SCB Concresive 1380 structural concrete injection resin or equivalent. Broken spalls should be repaired with LA Repair mortar. 2) Install new Safety ladders on Module A and replace all existing safety ladders including attachment hardware as needed on all other Modules. 3) Power tool clean all handrails to SSPC-SP3 to remove all loose mill scale, rust and paint. The handrails should be painted with a zinc-primer, an intermediate coat of epoxy and finished with a top coat of paint to match the color of the PVC extensions. Some handrails my need replacing if corrosion damage is too severe.
