About this opportunity
Air Combat Command is conducting a sources-sought market research effort for the procurement of COTS, NDAA-compliant 7-inch FPV quadcopter drones, unassembled drone kits, and FPV pilot kits, with responses due by July 20, 2026. This procurement is set aside for Total Small Business.
The requirement comprises 100 assembled 7-inch FPV quadcopters, 16 unassembled drone kits, 17 FPV pilot kits (including goggles, controllers, and batteries), and 3-day user training. All systems must feature open architecture with no proprietary software or hardware restrictions and solder-free design for rapid field assembly and maintenance. Physical specifications include a 7-inch quadcopter form factor equipped with FPV camera, minimum 100 mph to maximum 120 mph speed, minimum 5 lb to maximum 6 lb payload capacity, and operating temperature range of 10°F to 110°F. Solder-free components allow for rapid field maintenance and component replacement.
Critical compliance requirement: all systems must meet NDAA Section 848/889 and FY24 NDAA Subtitle B Drone Security restrictions. Vendors must certify that all sub-components contain no parts from covered entities including DJI, Autel, or their subsidiaries. The purchase description specifies STMF722RET6 flight controllers with integrated OSD, adjustable-power video transmission systems with low-latency FPV cameras, dual-antenna diversity control receivers, ExpressRS 2.4 GHz protocol transmitters, and Long Range System modules.
Training is conducted at Moody Air Force Base with vendor-provided travel expenses, class sizes of 2–8 students. Delivery is required within 6 months maximum. This notice is for market research only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
