About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Hood is conducting a market survey for Fort Jackson 3D Printer Maintenance Services through this sources sought notice. The requirement involves maintenance services for a proprietary 3D Systems Inc. 3D printer (US Army SLA ProX 950 System) located at the Training Support Center at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The government is seeking qualified contractors with certified technicians who possess specialized skills to maintain this proprietary system, which appears to require unique technical knowledge and programming language expertise. The notice specifically targets HUBZone, Small Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran Sources, Small Disadvantaged Businesses 8(a), Women-Owned Businesses, or large businesses in the Greater Columbia, SC region. Interested parties must submit a completed Sources Sought Information Request Form by June 23, 2025, via email to the designated contracting personnel, and contractor status will be verified through SAM and SBA registration systems.
This pre-solicitation notice does not utilize any set-aside designations and indicates that 3D Systems, Inc. appears to be the sole source contractor capable of meeting the maintenance requirements due to the proprietary nature of the equipment and programming language. The notice suggests that while alternative companies may provide physical 3D printers, only 3D Systems, Inc. can repair and maintain this specific system, serving as the single source for sales, service, software, and material support. The contract scope includes a two-year performance period with quarterly preventative maintenance visits, unlimited phone and remote technical support, next business day response times, and comprehensive spare parts coverage. Key service requirements mandate furnishing two personnel annually, conducting system software and firmware updates, and providing next business day parts shipping, with all maintenance activities performed Monday through Friday between 0800-1600 hours. No budget ranges or award values were disclosed in this market survey announcement.
