About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research for a follow-on Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Secondary Power Systems (SPS) and Small Gas Turbine Engines (GTE) Component Improvement Program (CIP). The procurement seeks engineering services focused on enhancing safety, reliability, and maintainability of critical aircraft power systems, particularly for F-16 Falcon and KC-135 platforms. Key contract requirements include comprehensive sustainment efforts, technical data management, engineering analysis, design activities, prototyping, hardware testing, and system improvements. Interested contractors must have direct access to or partnerships with Pratt & Whitney for necessary technical data. The opportunity is currently not set aside exclusively for small businesses but is soliciting interest from 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 541330, with a size standard of $47.0 million, indicating the scale of potential contractors. Interested parties are required to provide details on anticipated teaming arrangements, descriptions of similar services provided to government and commercial customers in the past three years, and clearly delineate work responsibilities between prime and teaming partners. While specific award values are not disclosed, the procurement suggests a comprehensive, multi-year engineering improvement program for critical military aircraft power systems. The government will use the responses to determine the most appropriate acquisition strategy and competitive approach for this critical sustainment and improvement initiative.
