About this opportunity
The Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) is seeking to procure a floor standing high-speed centrifuge to replace a previous Beckman-Coulter high-speed centrifuge at the Naval Medical Research Unit - San Antonio (NAMRU-SA). The centrifuge will be used to synthesize novel therapeutics and must achieve high centrifugation speeds of at least 100,000xg while supporting In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) compatibility with 15mL and 50mL conical and 30mL round bottom centrifuge tubes. Temperature control requirements range from -20°C to +40°C during centrifugation, with electrical requirements of 200-240 VAC and 24-30A. The contract will be evaluated using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable criteria as a firm fixed-price Request for Quote (RFQ). Offerors must submit quotes by July 14, 2025, and all questions should be directed to Contracting Officer Shamai Carter at shamai.m.carter.civ@health.mil or (301) 319-9955.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing), requiring offerors to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and possess a Unique Entity Identification Number. The solicitation specifically identifies that a new Beckman-Coulter Avanti JXN-30 would meet the requirements, suggesting potential vendor specifications. The procurement includes two line items: one AVANTI JXN 30 (200V 208V 240V) unit and shipping costs. Performance will occur in San Antonio, Texas 78234, where NAMRU-SA operates. No instrument maintenance plan is required at this time, as the previous unit operated successfully for 8 years without major repair or maintenance, exceeding its expected operational timeline.
