About this opportunity

NASA Glenn Research Center has issued a Special Notice announcing a second round of Industry Day one-on-one sessions for the Fission Surface Power (FSP) System scheduled for September 29, 2025. This virtual event represents a continuation of NASA's engagement with industry stakeholders regarding the development of fission-based power systems for surface operations. The notice specifies that these will be individual sessions rather than group presentations or forums, indicating a more targeted approach to industry consultation. All sessions will be conducted virtually to accommodate participation while maintaining security protocols. The agency emphasizes that this invitation is exclusively for additional one-on-one discussions beyond any previous industry engagement activities.

The primary objective of these sessions is to facilitate direct conversations, clarifications, and questions between NASA and industry participants regarding the FSP System's development and deployment. Contractors interested in participating must register by emailing designated NASA contacts by 5:00 PM EDT on September 24, 2025, with specific subject line formatting and comprehensive company information including legal names, email addresses, and citizenship verification. Participation is strictly limited to current US citizens, reflecting the sensitive nature of nuclear power technology applications. The sessions will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time on September 29, 2025, and NASA has clarified that attendance is optional and will not influence future proposal evaluations. Interested parties are directed to monitor SAM.gov for updates and can access additional information through NASA's dedicated FSP website at www.nasa.gov/glenn/fsps.
