About this opportunity
Norfolk Naval Shipyard intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Single Award Contract for Fire Watch/Tank Watch Touch Labor Support services, with the solicitation expected to be available on or around October 17, 2025. The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking commercial items for this procurement under FAR part 13.5, classified under NAICS code 336611 (Ship Building and Repairing) and Product Service Code J998 (Non-Nuclear Ship Repair East). The solicitation and all related documents will be distributed electronically through SAM.gov once available. Interested parties should monitor SAM.gov for the solicitation release, as no specific deadline for questions or proposal submissions has been provided in this pre-solicitation phase.
This procurement is designated as a 100% Woman-Owned Small Business Set-Aside, requiring contractors to meet the small business size standard of 1,300 employees or fewer. No incumbent contractors or potential award values are specified in the pre-solicitation notice. The tentative period of performance is scheduled to begin January 5, 2026, and run through March 31, 2026, with an option to extend the contract for up to three additional months under FAR 52.217-8. The contract structure suggests a relatively short-term engagement lasting approximately three months initially, with the potential for extension to six months total. The fire watch and tank watch services appear to be ongoing support requirements for shipyard operations, though specific quantities or service levels are not detailed in this preliminary notice.
