About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive fire suppression services for Halon fire extinguishing systems located at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. The primary contract objective is to perform inspection, testing, recharging, and maintenance of 150lb Halon fire extinguishers to ensure their operational readiness and prevent system deterioration. Contractors must be trained and certified in fire extinguisher maintenance, comply with manufacturer installation manuals, adhere to Air Force technical orders, and meet Florida State licensing requirements under Title XXXVII, Section 633, and Rule 69A-21. The solicitation was posted on May 13, 2025, with proposals due by June 11, 2025, and contractors will only be compensated for actual services approved and performed by the government. The opportunity is categorized under NAICS code 541990 for Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services and PSC code J042 for maintenance and repair of fire fighting and safety equipment.
This contract opportunity is not designated with a specific set-aside and will be open to all qualified contractors. The place of performance is located at Checkertail Way, Tyndall AFB, FL 32403, which suggests a localized service requirement for the Air Combat Command facility. While specific award values are not detailed in the solicitation, the contract appears focused on maintenance services rather than equipment procurement. The service will involve maintaining fire suppression systems to ensure they remain fully operational and meet stringent military and state regulatory standards. Potential contractors should carefully review the detailed requirements, including certification, licensing, and technical compliance specifications, to determine their eligibility for this federal contract opportunity.
