About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Installation and Mission Support Center Installation Contracting Agency (AFCEC/CXF) has issued a Special Notice for a Fire & Emergency Services Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Industry Day at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Scheduled originally for the week of April 7, 2025, the event was later announced as potentially transitioning to a virtual format due to government travel policy changes. The notice involves collaboration between AFCEC/CXF, the 772nd Enterprise Sourcing Squadron, and the Department of the Air Force Small Business Office to explore advancements in firefighter protective equipment. The industry day is focused on engaging with potential PPE vendors, manufacturers, and distributors in the firefighting equipment sector. The event is designed to facilitate networking and information exchange between government representatives and industry partners.

Contractors interested in participating must submit a registration form by March 20, 2025, with up to three company representatives eligible to attend. The primary objectives include gathering information on available PPE products, identifying potential vendors, and assessing the industry's capacity for long-term Department of the Air Force contracts. Key technical requirements for potential vendors include NFPA 1971 certification, Berry Amendment compliance, PFA-free moisture barriers, and specific performance metrics for protective equipment. The industry day will feature a government briefing, Q&A session, and one-on-one meetings with vendors, though it is explicitly noted that this is not a solicitation and the government will not cover any attendance costs. Eligible participants include manufacturers, distributors, and vendors of firefighting personal protective equipment who can demonstrate compliance with detailed technical specifications outlined in the attached documents. The event aims to foster open dialogue and establish potential future procurement and contracting opportunities within the firefighting PPE industry.
