About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center has issued a Sources Sought Notice to assess market availability and technical capability for a Fiber Splicing Trailer procurement. This market research effort aims to determine the best acquisition strategy, which could result in a single source acquisition, small business set-aside (full or partial), or full and open competition depending on the responses received. The government is seeking both small and large businesses capable of meeting their fiber splicing trailer requirements, with detailed specifications provided in the attached documentation. Companies interested in responding have until July 11, 2025 to submit their capabilities information. The agency has specified that telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and feedback on submissions may or may not be provided to responding companies.
This opportunity currently has no set-aside designation, allowing both small and large businesses to participate in the market research phase. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific award values or budget ranges for the potential procurement. Based on the nature of the requirement being a specialized fiber splicing trailer, this appears to be for a single unit or limited quantity of mobile telecommunications equipment. The timeline for service delivery or performance period has not been specified in the pre-solicitation materials. The final procurement method and any set-aside determination will be made based on the market research responses, indicating the government is still in the early planning stages of this acquisition.
