About this opportunity
Paragraph 1:
The Department of the Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is issuing a sole source solicitation for the procurement of FARO Vantage E6 Laser Trackers and related accessories. This requirement supports the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) in Philadelphia, PA, which uses specialized FARO equipment and software for critical manufacturing quality assurance processes. The current FARO Laser Trackers owned by NFPC have been deemed obsolete and can no longer be certified, necessitating their replacement. The solicitation is for a firm-fixed-price contract with a 6-week delivery timeline after award. Offerors must be registered in SAM and comply with various commercial supplier, software licensing, cybersecurity, and counterfeit parts prevention requirements.
Paragraph 2:
This procurement is set aside as an 8(a) sole source, as the FARO Laser Trackers are the only equipment compatible with NFPC's CAM2 software. No other manufacturer's equipment can interface with this proprietary software. The solicitation is seeking to procure 2 FARO Vantage E6 Max Laser Trackers, 2 notebook controllers, and associated accessories. The place of performance is the NFPC facility in Philadelphia, PA.
Notice text
This requirement is in support of the Naval Foundry and Propeller Center (NFPC) Philadelphia Division. NFPC applies stringent quality assurance methods to measure manufacturing while in process and upon completion using specialized brand equipment from FARO Technologies – CAM2 Software and Laser Trackers with peripheral accessories. These Laser Trackers are essential to the manufacturing process and require replacement. The FARO Laser Trackers currently owned by NFPC are now considered obsolete by the Navy’s MetCal standards and they will no longer accept certification on this equipment. No other manufacturer’s Laser Trackers are capable of interfacing with the CAM2 software; therefore, FARO is the sole source to provide the Laser Trackers with peripheral accessories requirement.
